Signature Abillity[]

Absorption Shield

Blaster’s Shielding system can be upgraded to absorb incoming energy attacks and repair damage. A similar upgrade was requested by his fellow Autobots for their audio receptors as an answer to his taste in music.

  • While Shielded: Blaster’s Shield allows him to shrug off the impact of Basic Energy Ranged Attacks and reduces a further 20% of incoming Energy Damage. Additionally Energy Attacks that hit Blaster while his Shielding is up have a 40% chance to instantly Repair Blaster for 7~17% of the opponent’s Attack Rating. If the attack is a Special Attack he repairs double that amount instead.

Special Attacks[]

  1. Amped - Turn up the volume, start the beats.
    • Blaster gains up to 3 additional Amp Charges.
    • 60% chance to grant a Power Gain Buff, generating 30% of Max Power over 10 seconds.
  2. Steeljaw - Blaster's speakers won't be the only thing roaring.
    • 100% chance to inflict Interference, lowering Ranged Damage by 15~30% and decreasing projectile speed for 20 seconds.
    • 7% Chance for each Amp Charge on Blaster to Stun the opponent for 3 seconds.
  3. Boom Boxers - The hits just keep on coming.
    • 100% chance to inflict an Attack Debuff reducing the Opponent’s Attack Rating by 10% for 20 seconds. Blaster then inflicts an additional Attack Debuff for each Amp Charge on him.

Synergy Bonuses[]

  • Synergy-incomingSynergy-outgoing Allies – Ultra Magnus, Arcee - +2~3~8% Armor.
  • Synergy-incomingSynergy-outgoing Enemies – Soundwave, Tantrum, Cyclonus - +2~3~8% Attack Rating.
  • Synergy-outgoing Shield Amp – Soundwave, Mirage, Rhinox - 1.5~4~10% Damage Reduction while Shielded.

  • Synergy-incoming Brain Gain – Shockwave - 10~15~25% Increase to Attack against Demolition Bots. Shockwave only gets this benefit if all bots on his team have this synergy.
  • Synergy-outgoing Leadership (5-Star) - +10% Power Rate for all lower tier teammates.

Strategy[]

Player[]

For longer battles, "amp-it-up" by using Special 1 three times for maximum amp charges. He is great against Bots with powerful ranged attacks. Keep the opponent's ranged attack speed down by constantly shooting; Interference is inflicted any time the projectiles are close to the opponent . After inflicting some interference, try counter-shooting after sidestepping slowed opponent projectiles.

His absorption shield is not practical for sustainable repair and survivability, as he will still take damage from energy attacks even if absorbed.

Opponent[]

Melee bots such as Optimus Primal or Tantrum will take down the noisy Autobot. Also, try not to get hit by his basic ranged attacks. You don't want your shots to be slowed to a halt.

If this boombox gets to Special II, block or Sidestep as soon as possible - this attack, much like Shockwave and Prowl's Special II, is a hard one except it’s much harder.

(Somehow, abilities that causes Blaster's Interfering shots to Miss will still go through the Evade and cause your Bot to get inflicted with the Interference.)

Strong Match-ups[]

  • Galvatron – Galvatron greatly relies on his Ranged Damage, something Blaster is an expert at reducing.
  • Soundwave – Blaster is able to Repair himself with his own Reflected Projectiles. Let the Rivalry Begin.
  • Waspinator - Disrupting where most of his damage comes from will put the Predacon bug to an end.
  • Megatron (ROTF) - Blaster is the perfect counter to the decepticon leader. He drops the tunes which slow down Megatron's powered up Ranged Attacks and his specials 2 and 3 will bypass Megatron’s tough cybertronian armor. Decepticon leader, defeated by a mere autobot; exit stage right, Megs.
  • Megatronus - The Fallen’s wrath will be considerably easier to avoid if his blasts are slower.

Weak Match-ups[]

  • Bumblebee (GS) – The little gold speedster will break through Blaster’s Shielding, inflicting Shock damage on him every time he blocks.
  • Bludgeon – This tanky warrior does not use energy projectiles and will not allow Blaster to Repair when struck by his projectiles. The same goes for Drift and Kickback.
  • Kickback - The Insecticon is especially deadly against the Boombox. Activating special ones and heavy attacks fuel Kickback's power.
  • Grimlock - The king mostly relies on melee attacks which Blaster’s interference has no answer to and if Blaster thinks he can shock Grimlock, the Dino rage signature ability will put a stop to that idea.
  • Hound - The military warrior relies on Precision Ammo, something Blaster's interference can't reduce as an exception.
  • Other Bots who rely on melee attacks - these bots will put the noisy bot down.

Recommended Modules[]

Start the party with Blaster on these Mods!

  • Laser Guidance Module - This module will greatly increase Blaster’s Ranged Damage and Speed, a perfect fit for a bot that can do the inverse to his opponent.
  • Repair Module - The Repair Module will add to the constant Repairs he gets with his Signature Ability unlocked.
  • Strange Refractor - Blaster's Interference will force the opponent to fight melee. A feat will be difficult when the strange refractor is around him.
  • Superconductor 2000 - Good Luck dodging this one!
  • Robot Resource - More power equals more specials which allow for Blaster to quickly gain amp charges.
  • E.M.I Module - Interference will be on 24/7. (Blaster's and the mod's debuffs do not stack)

Obtainment[]

  • Boom Box Crystal
  • April 2018 Blaster Chips
  • Bot Crystals (added 8/01/2018)

Trivia/Notes[]

  • His design is based on a hybrid of his original G1 toy (boombox mode) & his Titans Return toy (robot mode).
  • Like Soundwave, Blaster deploys other bots during battle, namely Rewind and Steeljaw.
    • Unlike Soundwave, Blaster also transforms into his boom box mode during battle (during his special 1).
