Bot Chips are the primary method of obtaining Featured Bots of the month. currency in the game.
History[]
Bot Chips started out as Raid Event exclusive chips, 1,000 of which could be exchanged for a featured 2-Star Bot. Around 60 chips could be won per raid.
3-Star Featured Bots made their debut with Shockwave, which cost 10,000 Chips and specialized to each Bot.
With the debut of Galvatron, Bot Chips came to the forefront, introducing many more ways to obtain them. 4-Star Featured Bots were also introduced which cost 100,000 Chips. For Galvatron only, remaining chips could be exchanged for Premium Bot Crystal Shards or 4-Star Bot Crystal Shards.
For all featured Bots starting from Tantrum, 5-Star Bots were made available for 1,000,000 Chips.
The debut of Cyclonus saw a drastic increase in Raid Event and Arena Bot Chips, but the amounts were slightly decreased in raids the following month.
From 2019 onwards, the permanent generic Bot Chips can be used for any 3~5-Star Bot featured in the store.
November 2022 was the very last month to spend Bot Chips on Motormaster, Windblade, Ultra Magnus, and Barricade. You'd think they could buy Bots galore for the finale events but there were absolutely no provisions. And routine Bot Chip Arenas kept running despite nothing to spend them on!
When Netflix came knocking on Kabam's door, allowing the game a second lease on life, a lot of Bots became available on the store. Not all the Bots, but a majority of them.
Costs[]
Each event's bot Bot Chip cost in the store will increase for each duplicate of a Bot bought. There is a 21-amount limit for each tier, enough for a bot with a maxed Signature Ability. The Netflix version removes this.
- 1-Star - 100
- 2-Star - 1,000
- 3-Star - 10,000
+ 5,000 per purchase - 4-Star - 100,000

+ 300,000 per purchase
(The first 3-Star bot is 10K, the 2nd is 15k, the 3rd is 20k, and so on.)

- Getting a duplicate 1-Star Bot (50?)
- Getting a duplicate 2-Star Bot (100)

Strategy[]
If you are super casual and only want a 3-Star Bot, you should get more than 25,000 Chips passively.
If you are a level 40+ Commander who plays regularly, and unwilling to drop money and Energon on Crystals' luck, mastering Spotlight Missions, playing a full arena or two, regularly participating in Alliance Missions, raiding daily, and a couple of bot crystals should get you 100,000 chips and then some for a few 3-Stars. Getting 140,000 chips more is a stretch goal that would involve completing almost all the bot arenas. Now that Raid Events give nearly 2000 chips per raid for a 1500 Medal-range Commander, you only need to raid regularly 6-9 times a day with no need for arenas to get more than enough chips for a duplicate.
As Bot Chips are becoming more commonplace in the game's economy, you'll want to save up eventually.
Specialty Chips[]
Even after generic Bot Chips, there were a few events with specialized themed Bot Chips.
Autobot Chip[]
TF-labeled chips for the September 2019 35th anniversary of The Transformers brand, and Autobot Week.
Class Clash Chip[]
Chips in June 2019 to introduce a new type of Arena.
A Clash of Classes is coming! Join us for a Special Week-long event where you can participate in special Arenas and Raids every day to earn class-specific rewards, including 4-Star Class Bot crystals and T4 Class Spark Essence! This event kicks off on June 27th, 2019 at 10am PT and runs until July 4th at 10 am PT!
- Each day, one class will be featured in its own special 24 hour arena. You can only enter that Arena with Bots of the same Class or Bots that have a Class Advantage. For example, on Tech Arena Day, you will be able to use both your Tech and Scout Bots to compete.
- Take on the Class Clash Special Team everyday to earn Extra Points and Class ORE-13! You can also purchase Counter-Class Sparks and ORE-13 in the Store with Class Clash Chips, and Class Premium Bot Crystals for Energon!
- Note: There are Daily Purchase limits on all of these items, and the items in the Store are for the Class that Counter the Class of the Day.
- Class Clash Chips?
- For the duration of the Event, you can earn Class Clash Chips for every successful Raid you complete. Use these Chips in the Store to purchase Class Spark Essence and ORE-13!
- There will also be a 7-Day Raid Ascent event running alongside the Class Clash Event. This event features the regular rewards for Raid Ascent, but also includes a small amount of Class Clash Chips in the rewards!
- Raid Event? That Means Quintesson Bases again…
- We understand that during Raid Events, the amount of Quintesson Bases you run up against might increase quite a bit, but we’ve made some changes!
- During this event, Raid Chips awarded for Quintesson bases will be increased significantly, and they will now award Medals as well! They still won’t match what you get from Raiding another Commander’s base, but will be more comparable.
- Which Bots are in the Crystals?
- We’ve updated the Class Crystals to include all of our regularly available Bots! This means that the only ones not available are Thundercracker, and Bumblebee (Generations), while Bumblebee (DOTM) will be available as a 2 and 3 Star, but not as a 4-Star.
- This is a 7 Day event but there are only 6 classes…
- On July 3, a free-for-all Arena will be available featuring all the class special teams. The top rewards for this event will be 6x 4-Star Class Bot Crystals (1x OF EACH CLASS)!
- This is also your last chance to spend Class Clash Chips on a variety of Class Spark Crystals! This is the only day that the Class Sparks are NOT Class Specific and will be in Crystals!
- What days will each class be featured?
- The arena schedule is:
- • Warrior Clash Arena - June 27
- • Scout Clash Arena - June 28
- • Tech Clash Arena - June 29
- • Demolition Clash Arena - June 30
- • Tactician Clash Arena - July 1
- • Brawler Clash Arena - July 2
- • Free-for-All Clash Arena - July 3
- **** For clarity purpose: Rank up materials are in the Store for Raid Currency (Class Clash Chips) while the Class Shards for Bot Crystals are Arenas.
- Chips after the event were converted 1:1 gold and then Shards remained for future events.
Beast Wars Chip[]
Chips for a December 2019 Beast Wars event.
The year is ending and the Beasties are running wild! While timelines and dimensions keep clashing, we take a trip back (or is it forward...and then back again) in time to witness as Dinobot changes from a Predacon to fight with the forces of the Maximals! Will this timeline stay strong, or is it just the start of these Beast Wars?
- This event starts December 19th at 9AM EST and lasts for a total of three weeks!
- As soon as this kicks off you’ll have the chance to get your hands on Beast Wars Chips by completing various activities and can be used to purchase event specific Bots. These bots are changing daily between Predacons and Maximals and will repeat for a total of 3 times before giving everyone the chance at purchasing Crystals with all 6 Bots in them.
- How do we earn these chips? There are several ways!
- PROVING FIELDS
- This entire event starts with a 6-Day mission where you must prove your worth with a specific Beast War bot given to play with. You will be challenged to three fights with varying difficulties of your choice. You’re not going to want to miss this! Each day comes with new and unique dialogue.
- CHRONO-VECTORS: REBEL RAPTOR
- In the second and third week of this event, test your might in our unique story mission centered around Dinobot and his change in loyalty. If you can get through this you will be greatly rewarded with Beast Wars Chips as well as Awakening and Signature Upgrade Programs specific to difficulty chosen. Keep in mind, you’ll only be able to bring a roster of three for this! Choose wisely, Commanders.
- ARENA
- In week two, you will get your chance to earn more Beast Wars chips (alongside the usual rewards) by hitting Milestones in Arenas, earning Rank Rewards, and fighting Special Beast Wars teams.
- OBJECTIVES
- During the event there will be special objectives put into place. By completing all Objectives you’ll be awarded the 4-5 Star Beast Wars Crystal. By completing eight, you’ll receive the 3-4 Star Beast Wars Crystal. Some objectives can reward you 2-4 Star Featured (BW) Bot Crystal. Don’t worry, you’ll get chips alongside these victories!
- • Win Arena Fights using specific Bots.
- • Win Solo Mission Fights using specific Bots.
- • Complete “PROVING FIELDS” missions.
- • Complete “REBEL RAPTOR” missions.
- LOGIN CALENDAR
- There will be a Special 7-Day Calendar weekly to give you login rewards of Beast Wars Chips. Login in daily so to not miss out!
- ENERGON PACKS
- As this event is going on you have the chance to earn Beast War Chips when purchasing Energon Packs!
Faction Chip[]
Some 2022 "sidequest" Spotlight Missions had Faction Chips which can be used to buy faction-specific Bots and crystals. They could be carried over between faction events.
There were three events featuring Cinematic bots, Generations Autobots, and Beast Wars. Presumably there would have been a Generations Decepticons event if the game didn't shut down.
How to obtain:
- Objectives
- 7-day Login Calendar
- Faction Chip Arena
- 6-Day Challenge Gauntlet
- Energon bundles
Event Store[]
- 3-Star Bot: 800
- 4-Star Bot: 4,000
- 5-Star Bot: 20,000
- The above prices were halved for the final Faction Chip event.
- Faction crystal: 300
- Elite faction crystal: 600
- The Beast Wars event also had them in 5 and 10 bundles directly from the Store page as well as the Crystals page.
